This is not a neutral wardrobe basic, and I think that is important to understand before choosing it. In person, the design reads stronger and dressier, so I would save it for a night when I actually want the clothes to be noticed. I liked the look once I accepted that and stopped trying to make it casual. Simple accessories helped a lot. The tradeoff is that it is less versatile than a plain suit or dress, but it also gives you much more impact without needing to build the entire outfit around extra jewelry or accessories.

I tried adding more jewelry and ended up taking it off. The outfit looked better with less.

This is a more tailored fit, especially through the shoulders and bust. I usually like a little room, but sizing up would have changed the shape too much. Going by the measurements worked better for me than guessing from my normal size.

The hand beading was the reason I clicked on this style, but I was not sure whether I would still like it once I saw it up close. After trying the outfit on, I actually liked the detail more because it did not feel separate from the rest of the design. From close range you can see it clearly, but from normal distance the whole outfit still reads as polished rather than overly decorated. I kept the rest of my styling simple because I did not want to compete with it. That worked well. It gave me the interesting, non-basic look I wanted without making me feel like I was dressed for a stage.

For a dressier event, I liked that this was basically a complete look on its own. I did not have to spend time trying to make a basic outfit feel more special with accessories.
